Engine Change: I fixed an issue in the Starship where the equip slot suggesting the placement of Hovering items in the back room of the Captains Quarters was actually not functioning. This required an engine change, so be sure to clear cache and refresh your browser if you are not seeing Omega Ver. 4.0.2
New Hovering Items! Lyris made a couple of terrariums (terraria?) and an aquarium and they are in Lisa's shops on the Starship. The Hovering Aquarium and Hovering Desert Terrarium sell for credits, and the Hovering Terrarium is in the Nova Gem shop.

Amusing Gremlin: Lyris tried out some new coding for the inhabitant of the Hovering Terrarium so that it would choose from a variety of actions. Flash decided to read it as a directive to cycle the whole game from character creation through login and into the News screen. Fortunately, Vivi was around and Ash popped in from his vacation destination for a bit, and we were able to work together to figure out how to circumvent the strange anomaly. Note that the code Lyris put in had no logical reason not to work! (Huge thanks to all of you for volunteering your time.)
I went ahead and rolled the release live really early because I'll be at the newspaper office all day. Besides writing a story and photographing a parade later, I'm also filling in for the proofreader/receptionist while she's on vacation. And then it'll be the weekend! Prototype Accelerator Containment Vessel
What is it? G.E.A.R.S. has many great minds within its halls and they are always pushing the boundaries of what's possible. They came up with a new type of particle accelerator, one that when placed into a vehicle granted it some amazing effects. Upon seeing what it could do in a lesser mecha, the students built this containment vessel specifically designed with combat in mind. It uses the various exotic particles that the accelerator constantly creates to recover energy and keep you in a fight, as well as increasing your combat potential and greatly increasing your chances of winning. The core even has a small chance to create and utilize an as-yet-unnamed particle (only discovered and harnessed by one other, to make the Ubertron). These particles will swap with those in your foe, swapping your HP and EP! The pitfalls discovered in the creation of the Ubertron, however, caused them to come up with a safety mechanism. Upon detection of creation of these particles and the swap with your foe, a safety system will engage and recover a portion of your HP and EP - keeping you in the fight!
This prototype accelerator may never see widespread use because of how dangerous it could be if it winds up in the wrong hands. However, YOU have been chosen by the scientists at G.E.A.R.S. to use this one because of everything you have accomplished! Will you be able to use it to its peak potential and show how powerful it can be?
What does it do? Levels with you to 100, and:
FA - Charged Particle Blaster CD 3 - Hit 1: 30% damage, heals 50% of the damage of the hit as HP. - Hit 2: 40% damage, heals 50% of the damage of the hit as EP. - Hit 3: 50% damage, heals 50% of the damage of the hit as both HP and EP.
BA - Overclocked Force Blade CD 3 120% damage. - Inflicts a 2x HP and EP, 3 turn DoT effect. - If the enemy is Equippable will disable enemy HD weapon.
FS - Collision Launcher CD 1 110% damage. - Nerfs enemy Defense by -55 for 2 turns.
BS - Disruption Particle Launcher CD 2 120% damage. Nerfs enemy Boost by -45 for 2 turns.
HD - Particle Field Generator CD 99 100% damage. - Prevents enemy EP regen for 3 turns. - Buffs Boost by 30 for 75 turns. - Buffs Bonus by 25 for 75 turns.
BD - Particle Accelerator Drive CD 5 - Hit 1: 50% damage, with 100% chance to crit. If this hit connects will lower enemy ImmoRes by -100. - Hit 2: 50% damage, attempts to stun at current ImmoRes. - 4% chance for hit 2 to swap HP and EP values with your foe and then heal 15% of your max HP and EP.

A New Room! The New Year is a lovely time to do some decorating. Star Captains, you are getting a new room in your starships tonight! I've started making some new items for you - there's a Hovering Goldfish Bowl that goes quite well in the Floor slot on the far left of the new room, with more hovering-style items to follow in the weeks ahead. Also new, for the Wall slots, is the Snow Globe On A Shelf. (The new part is the shelf. The snow globe was previously only available on a table as a floor item.)
As you can see in the above snapshot, there is now also a "back door." It will transport you to the mecha bay area of the starship. Thanks to Rolith for doing some backend work to make this happen for us. I got everything set up but just didn't have the access level needed to actually add the slot equip functionality.
I've been wanting to add another room for ages, and it came about because I was attempting to fix a Gremlin that happens when you have your starship set as your hometown. Sadly, the bug is still firmly in place (because the process of loading the starship as the hometown is a complete mystery to me so far - and also a mystery to Ash, to Vivi, to Korin, and even to Rolith). (Warlic, I'm asking you next!) So if your starship is your hometown, you still see an ancient starmap when you first enter. Just run out the bay doors and re-enter from Soluna East and you get your updated modern current map.
New Star Captain Missions Also On The Way! Ash is developing a fantastic new set of missions for you as we speak. More on that later.
So this week's release is still a work in progress - it also will involve an engine change so when we announce that it's live you will need to refresh your browser window.

Turkageddon is a Monster Holiday!: So of course you need a new monster in your favorite mecha battle roleplaying game, and we've got one for you in MechQuest! You'll encounter someone new to battle and you'll find yourself a new enemy. Holiday shopping is insane at this time of year, but that's not the only place you'll run into trouble!
Sorry for the delay - I had it scheduled for release last Friday and as is fitting for the holiday you might say I bit off more than I could chew... Seriously, this wound up as a mission incorporating a lot of elements that just take time to put together. It's not throwing out a lot of Gremlins or being extra-buggy or anything. It's going quite smoothly. Simply time-consuming, is all. I put together assets that already existed so you won't see a lot of new art but you will get to enjoy an all-new story that's never been told quite this way before.
I'm really excited about it and we will have everything ready for you this Friday, December 5 (and better than it would have been last week, for certain). I added in a new e-blade and an extra new enemy to help make up for the delay.
Ash is setting up a big monster and adding in a challenge version so everyone should have a blast with the major fights.
Real-Life Stuff: I cooked an enormous bird with all the trimmings for nineteen people on Turkageddon (Thanksgiving). Most everyone on the MQ team is buried in exams, too, and so I didn't like to ask for a lot of help with this release. I do apologize for the delay. The Thanksgiving prep was pretty crazy. It was part of the inspiration for this quest. I really did buy our bird in a
...well, kind of a spoiler... skip this portion if you don't want to know anything about the plot!

After you've recovered all the artifacts listed above:
Head to the Portal Site and log into your Master Account. Go to the Quests tab to check your event progress. You are looking for 7 green checkmarks. If a game is not checked off, you have not found the artifact in that game.
If you DO have all 7 checkmarks, you'll see a box appear saying "Congratulations! You have found all the cursed artifacts!"
Click the link that says "Click here to get your prizes!" and you will go to your Achievements tab. You should see "Artix Entertainment 12th Birthday Event" achievement under "What's New?"
Click that to get your prize code, then go to the "Redeem Codes" page to unlock the OmniKnight Blade in each game!

Greetings! Many of you have been asking what we had planned for the next big storyline and now you all can find out! You can access the new quest, which will begin the brand new main storyline, in Soluna Main right now! Right now you'll be able to access it without having to play "The End", the end of the previous main storyline, but that will change in two weeks. If you haven't completed the ending, which includes the conclusion of the biggest war against the Shadowscythe ever, you really should first as this new quest might be a bit confusing if you haven't. There's also a limited time reward if you complete the quest now. There's a brand new mecha drawn and animated by Minar!
After this week it'll be replaced with a new mecha created by Lyris with a few additions by myself. The mecha by Lyris and I will be around permanently though as the reward from this quest. Make sure to be careful when attempting the quest, the enemy inside has resistances to 2 damage types as well as the ability to gain additional resistances as you battle against him. This'll be a really tough fight if you aren't careful! This quest is only possible thanks to the entire team. We all spent months planning and coming up with ideas, especially for the new main villian. I wrote and built the quest but Maegwyn, Lyris, Gianna, Minar, and everyone else on the team contributed so much to get this ready. This storyline is going to have you exploring all over as time goes on, to planets and places in the universe you haven't seen yet. It's going to be a wild ride and I hope you'll keep checking back to see how crazy it gets! I also want to take a second and thank all of you, the players. Without you we wouldn't have anyone to make this content for. Your support and feedback is what makes us that much more excited to do things every week. The amount of support recently for MechQuest made me work extra hard on this quest to show you all that we're going to continue to put out the best content we can for you guys. In honor of the occasion we are bringing you updated Anniversary-themed items that you can pick up downstairs at the party by riding the Floorivator at Tek's Mechs. The Pajama/Cake party (accessible via the GEARS Parties button) has an updated dialogue reflecting on some of the events of the past year.
Coinciding with the anniversary, this release also brings a change to stat training. You still get 5 points per level to spend - 6 if you upgrade to Star Captain - but now you can train them faster. You can now train 10 points per session - and 20 if you are a Star Captain!
Star Captains may now get an item for your starships that essentially turns stat training into an "online course." Instead of having to battle a bazillion times to retrain your stats, you just allocate 20 points and press the "Train" button. Bazinga! No more marathon sessions required just to change your build. Pick yours up today at the button in Soluna City Main!

Anything about loading being stuck on the loading screen isn't a bug. Thats the result of us joining with the DF servers if I understand things correctly. To fix this they need to clear cache and relog. We're getting a lot of those bug reports and they can't be fixed.
I will let Captain Rhubarb know that we're getting a lot of these reports and will see whether he can do some kind of magic to improve this issue. For now, please just try clearing your cache and logging in again if it happens to you - and sorry for the inconvenience!

In case you didn't know, Lyris and Ash conspired to build me a birthday mecha! You'll find it in the Soluna City Main shop. From what I hear, Lyris had a concept for the specials design after she arted & animated the mecha, and Ash coded it. What a great surprise! Here's the rundown:

Greetings! Just wanted to stop in and let you know about a couple of things that'll be happening this week.
First off, the Traveler will be leaving to parts unknown this Friday. No one really knows when he'll return so if you want any of his items make sure to get this before Friday evening!
Next, the Chaos Mecha and Items will be moving to the Event screen. You can get there by clicking the Shops button, it's next to the travel button on that bottom bar, and then clicking the "Event" button with the clock picture up at the top. This is also where the free Golden Mecha are, so you can pick one of those up as well. I didn't want anyone to think the Chaos stuff just dissappeared!
For the release this week we'll have another quest in the Beard chain! The idea for the whole chain was thought up by Blade and ACW0, so if you like it make sure to let them know! Blade even made a beardy head weapon for this weeks release!
I'm able to do quests pretty well now so I'm trying to finish this up for you guys. It's a really cool story and one that's both funny and interesting. Once it's all wrapped up I'll work on the second half of the "Going Gray???" event! See you Friday!

The Haliaeetus mecha has all NEW art by Minar and specials designed by Blues, and Vivi! It's in Soluna Main in the Holiday Shop on the sidebar. It'll only be here this weekend though! The art will probably return in the future, but specials won't come back in later years.
What's a "Haliaeetus?" Well, it's one of the most-recognizable eagle species. It ties in to the United States of America Fourth of July celebrations. And to think, I never would have known this if we hadn't already made an Eagle mecha model in the past! I love finding new and obscure bits of knowledge when researching - a friend of mine calls this "Research Rapture." Have you ever experienced research rapture, where you are led further and further off track from the original line of inquiry? This particular research line didn't veer at all. YET. But I digress...
Here are the specials:

Greetings! This week we have a somewhat larger release, at least it feels that way to me. Hah!
Last week I was talking to Mae about what we could do to give you all something larger than normal. I came up with the idea to do something for our players who have done everything in the storyline already and wanted something extra. This turned into something larger than I had planned and it pushed me farther than I've gone in a while.
Tonight we have an addition to Planet 51. It's a series of fights that you can access after you've beaten the current 51, finished Yokai, AND finished Necryptos. Once you've done all that you can use the button that shows up on Korin's list.
This has several fights, most chosen by players when I asked, as well as one final fight that I came up with myself. It will take a little thought and strategy to beat a couple of them, but if you can it'll be worth it.
I also did some updates to the old Planet 51 rewards that you'll find in the Arm reward shop once you win. There's also some new stuff too that I came up with just for this. Some of the rewards are hints about something I'm cooking up personally and something in particular gives a hint at where the storyline is going next. You might have to talk to someone once you win to find out what that is though.
I hope you enjoy it and I'm very thankful to Mae for letting me go all crazy and do this. Make sure to let me know on the forums what you think of the fights and the rewards!

Greetings! Something I've wanted to do for a while now was get back to doing the monthly SC release. I'm going to be doing something each month now, maybe not a mech each time but something to thank you guys for your support. This month Blues and I wanted to do something really special to kick it off, so we decided on doing the very first SCEM, the Strider. We didn't want to just copy the old one with nothing changed so Blues re-statted it as an offensive mech with a LOT of firepower.
Strider-P FA/BA - CD= 1
Each use buffs damage by 25%, either arm. Caps at 200%
Applies a 1.5x HP and EP DoT, either arm. Every additional use of either arm buffs the DoTs by .5x. Caps at 4x.
FS/BS - CD=3
Hit 1: 25% damage
Hit 2: 35% damage - Damages enemy EP with hit's damage.
Hit 3: 45% damage
Hit 4: 55% damage - 15% chance to heal 50% of hit's damage.
Hd - CD=5
Self Boost BoT, +10, per turn, for 4 turns.
+25 BtH for 4 turns.
Enemy Boost NoT, -7, per turn, for 5 turns.
Bd - CD=4
Hit 1: 20% damage, (if hit hits) Nerf enemy immo res by -30.
Hit 2: 25% damage, (if hit hits) + 25 BtH for 4 turns.
Hit 3: 30% damage, (if hit hits) Nerf enemy immo res by addition -60.
Hit 4: 40% damage, (if hit hits) Disables head when equippable.
Hit 5: 60% damage, (if hit hits) Attempts to stun.
You can pick it up now in the shop with the other perm versions of the SCEM's. (They are in the Star Captain Club on the second floor.) Also last week we had the Memorial Day shop. I didn't get the stats to Mae in time for a DN so here they are now!.
Memorial Day Mecha Models FA- 3 turn CD
Nerfs immores (immobility resistance) by -50(-55/-60) and attempts a stun.
Rolls for a chance to do a 2 turn energy regen halt. BA - 3 turn CD
If at least one of the hits connects.
3 turn 1.5 (2/2.5)x HP DoT
3 turn enemy damage nerf of -30(-35/-40)
FS/BS - 2 turn CD
Damage increase per use, stacks using either shoulder.
+10% damage up to cap of +50% extra damage.
Stacking enemy Bonus nerf. -8(-9/-10) per use, either shoulder, up to a cap of -50 Bonus.
HD - 3 turn CD
Stacking Boost buff. +8(+10/+12) per use up to a +40 cap.
BD - 5 turn CD
4 turn defense buff of 40(45/50)
Rolls, heals a small amount. (Between .011 and .11 of max health. Max of 76 at level 50)

Memorial Day Mecha Models: For this year's Memorial Day, Ash has developed a mecha that has three different color schemes. The Tactical Land Assault, Naval Assault, and Aerial Assault models share the same specials. You can find them in the shop on Soluna City's Main Street.

Gianna Glow had a birthday this week! Plasma Charge put together a magical energy blade for the occasion. Wear the Ninja outfit to unlock the magic attack. There's also a special "blooper" version for Star Captains called GG's Little Ankle Biter. The original positioning of the magic attack was a bit off and it made me laugh; Ash made an extra one so we could share the laughter. Happy birthday, Gigi!
Ash has re-colored and reworked a mecha with new specials for Memorial Day. There will be multiple color schemes and all models will have the same specials. Greetings! This week I worked on getting a bunch of the bugs that were around, and that you all reported recently, fixed. There were a bunch, and I can't mention all of them, but to sum up everything. - A bunch of typos. - Item bugs. - Mech bugs - Travel Map bug - Romero quest bug
I also have a hunt tonight for you all for a new type of mod. These still boost stats but they boost a different set then you all usually see. I'm working on seeing about putting extra effects on new mods for some true passive effects but for now I wanted to put these out. What better way to do that then a hunt through the game! I'm hiding the mods in a shop and the following is your clue.

I wanted to mention that you might want to build up your stash of credits because there's an o.Ops weapon planned for later this month. Well this is embarrassing... there's a critical issue with the Maypril quest involving cutscenes and player positioning that makes it unplayable and that has taken me way too long to sort out. So things remain color-faded until further notice. Which shouldn't be too much longer. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans... mmm scrambled eggs! It'll end up being better than it would have been.
We're laying the groundwork for some great new features and continuing to plan ahead for a very exciting set of releases while we work on bugfixing. I am so excited about all of this coming together for you!

Greetings! Some of you mentioned that you weren't fans of the way the 4pri1 mech worked, so we took that into consideration for the Maypril mech. Blues and I talked about a few things and we came up with the following for this year.
FA CD=3 Inflicts a 1x(1.5x/2x) HP DoT Chance to inflict a x2(2.5x/3x) HP DoT instead.
BA CD=3 Deals increased damage on hit. Amount is random. 3 turn increasing Defense nerf over time effect. -8(-9/-10) per turn. (-8 -> -16 -> -24 -> expired)
FS CD=4 Crit chance increase 4 turn enemy damage Nerf over Time effect. Starts at -25(-30/-35) and decreases by 8 per turn. (-25 -> -17 -> -9 -> -1 -> expired)
BS CD=2 Effect based on how many hits connected. 5 hits - Buffs Boost by 20(25/30) for 2 turns. 3-4 hits - Buffs Boost by 10(15/20) for 2 turns. 1-2 hits - Buffs Bonus by 20(25/30) for 2 turns. 0 hits - Buffs Bonus by 40(45/50) for 2 turns.
HD CD=4 4 turn increasing Bonus nerf over time effect. -7(-8/-9) per turn. (-7 -> -14 -> -21 -> -28 -> expired) Rolls Nerfs enemy ImmoRes by -50 and chance for 2 turn stun Else 1 turn stun

In other news I did a few more revamps for Lagos. Robina's shops will have a bunch of higher level items for you guys. Hopefully that will tide you all over since I've done about all I can for right now. I'll revisit the planet in the future but I need to focus on some new stuff.
