Cyber Someday! Who knows what day it is in these crazy times? Log in now to take advantage of Cyber Someday! All-new energy blades by Blade and Plasma Charge, plus a new back shoulder weapon courtesy of blues, Plasma Charge, and Vivi.
The Nova Gem blade, called the "Blue Light Special," works with the Ninja uniforms to unlock its magic attack. There actually used to be a REAL "Blue Light Special" back in the Darker Ages...
The Green Starflash blade and the Blue Light Special are both Blade's artwork. Plasma Charge did the Cyber Slasher and also spent some time teaching Blade (and me) how the special magic attack is set up for e-blades. It pulls a completely separate file for the magic attack animation and uses very specific coding to make it all work together. So it's more time-consuming than a standard blade (but less complicated than a mecha weapon) - now that more of us have some familiarity with the inner workings, we'd like to start bringing you new magic attacks.
You're probably interested in the new shoulder specials. These are set up with Star Captain damage-per-turn (DPT) numbers, and if you are a Star Captain you unlock bonus specials. Specials designed by blues and coded by Vivi, so let's hear from blues:
Here´s the specials: All last til end of fight, everything caps at 50
Hit 1: +5 BtH, +2 def, HP DoT (stacking, caps at 3 times) Hit 2: +7 BtH, +3 def, heals EP with damage done Hit 3: +9 BtH, +4 def, EP DoT (stacking, caps at 3 times)
SC only: Hit 1 reduces immo res by 80, Hit 2 damages also EP with damage done and Hit 3 tries to stun.
Thanks, blues! Also a special thanks to Gianna Glow for helping test.
The Junk: 89.7 GJNK is now on the air at last! See Parma John to get a little bit of further reveal. There's still more to the story coming - and ACW0 (who you may know from the forums, twitter, or in AQWorlds) has been writing cutscene script with us, so you have a lot more to look forward to! Did you know that this story idea initially came from Blade, who has also worked up a soon-to-be-seen NPC along with some... modified NPCs...
Yeah, the team is having fun with this! I know it's taking longer than I feel like it really should, but we will probably pick up more speed as our momentum gets underway & we hit a new stride.
behind-the-scenes: Getting the radio to work... it works just fine as a Starship Item, but getting it to work as a clickable radio in a town or quest file was super-problematic. Either it became unclickable, or resulted in an endless 0% loading, and even the mostly-workable solution using the standard music loading procedure still breaks the on-off toggle switch. It must just be inherently Evil somehow!
Also I just realized that after spending many, many hours fixing the replay of Turkageddons past, I did not set them up as playable for you. Better late than never, so that'll come later with more of the Winter Holiday stuff! Mogloween will leave next week, and Tek's Birthday Party will also end for the year. We've still got Flavescent Friday coming soon as well!
Oh! before I forget: Galanoth reminded me to mention this:
Holiday Special - Ends January 5, 2014: Get 10% more Artix Points when you purchase using credit cards or Paypal on portal.battleon.com
Thank you all so much for playing MechQuest! Have a great weekend!
Do you have an iPhone, Android, iPod, iPad, iToaster, iSock or iWeirdSenseOfHumor? This holiday season we plan our releasing our first major mobile game! It is an RPG/Battle-Puzzle game calledAdventureQuest: Battle Gems.
You battle by touching the screen and connecting 3 or more gems of the same type. We got creative and added slime levels, lava challenges, bombs, cages, and a bunch of other crazy game mechanics. As you read this we are in the home stretch of creating the game's 140+ monsters and 256 levels.
Yes, it will be free. Probably an optional upgrade in it -- but we do not know what yet, we have been competely focused on the gameplay and level design. We want you to fall in love with our first mobile game.
The Battle Gems project was started to "teach us how to make mobile games" so we would be ready to create a mobile version of AdventureQuest Worlds. It turned into something really amazing... we hope you will be one of the first people to download it and try it out when it is ready this December.
My favorite part of the design notes is sharing the behind the scenes stories of how we make things. Many of you have been with us for many years-- you have seen what I am about to talk about first hand. But if you are just joining us, this is an interesting point in the story to jump in! Behold, this year's brand new 2014 Artix Entertainment Calendar Poster!
We created our first calendar 4 years ago. We worked really hard on it, using mostly Oishii's art (Oishii was the first artist to join the team.) It featured all of our female characters. The reaction was overwhelmingly "Uh... this is girly!" We even recieved a phone call from a parent asking if we had any that were more... you know... for boys.
So, LOL, the next year Diozz joined the team. He created a more villain oriented calendar and it was recieved really well. We were able to make it thanks to Toys"R"Us to helped cover the costs of production. It sold out completely HeroMart, but, unlike our card game, it did not do well at all in Toys"R"Us. We actually bought calendars back from Toys"R"Us to put more on HeroMart that year. The following year, we created our first Calendar Poster. It was the coolest thing we had ever created. We made it double sided. The front side had the calendar on it. The idea was, when the year was over people could flip it over and it would be an awesome stand-alone-poster. Players loved it!
This year, Diozz drew the scene above as a personal gift to me. It was so... dark, dangerous, with a feeling of action and no matter how many undead surrounded Artix he was going to fight and fight and fight and win! I asked Diozz if we could use his art for this year's 2014 calendar and he smiled and said he was honored.
Dage spent several days digitally painting it. It was tricky because the original picture was landscape. We tried it, but a sideways poster just felt weird. So Diozz and Dage spend a lot of time repainting and re-editing it to fit perfectly on a tall poster. You probably want to hear about the class and items that come with it, but you can see all of that on the HeroMart site.
I really wanted to share the story and love that went into creating this. The poster/calendar has become a new yearly tradition and this one... perfectly matches the new dark, epic, and heroic feel that we want to put into our games. If you get one -- I would love to see a picture of it on your wall!
NOTE: To give our support and help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, we will be donating 20% of all calendar profit to the Red Cross in the Philippines through the end of November. AdventureQuest Worlds has 1,329,791 players who live in the Philippines. So if you are going to get a calendar, order it now—it feels better knowing your game stuff is chipping in for a good cause!
And if you would like to know what goes into making an item for MechQuest, make sure to check out Blade's explanation of just how much work and creativity goes into all of their gear.

Get 10% more Artix Points when you purchase using any of the following payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, PayPal, Visa Delta/Debit/Electron PayPal, Paymentez Credit Card, ClickandBuy
What are Artix Points, you ask? Artix Points is the new name for BattleOn Game Points. They are the most important and powerful points in the universe. Forged from crystallized dragon’s breath, marbles, and a little duct tape... you can use them in MechQuest to get Nova Gems & Star Captain upgrades - and also with ANY of our Artix Entertainment games to get upgrades, memberships, special items and even other in-game currencies!
Birthday Mecha Delay: We hit a small snag in the production line, but things are rolling along again smoothly at last! We're in the final stages of testing this weekend. The credits versions will be via the merge system, so get your Silver Tokens downstairs at Tek's (you won't need more than five) - they are set up with Star Captain power for all players (higher DPT, or Damage Per Turn, than a normal non-Star Captain model) and if you are a Star Captain you will unlock exclusive specials! AND - the Nova Gem models will have special pricing: only 750 Nova Gems instead of the "normal" 1000! Coming SOON!
Have a great weekend! Thanks for playing MechQuest!
Mogloween: Soluna City is about to get some decorations - will it be spooky or festive? We'll definitely be setting up replays of years past, and we're also working on some hilarious new content. Things are getting kind of hairy.
It's been a crazy few weeks & I'm looking forward to talking with you more. Have a great weekend! Thanks so much & we'll have some new stuff for you next week!

Where Else to Get Help?
You should only email the Help Pages! For us to help you in the best and fastest way possible, we NEED you to use them, not Twitter, Facebook, or the forum!
If you post on Twitter, Facebook, or the forum, that just means our team members need to redirect you to the Help Pages anyways! (It's also very easy for our team members to miss your important posts on social networking sites, because sometimes they need to sleep.)
Using the Help Pages right from the start means we can start helping you confidentially and directly as soon as we read your email. (Remember, because real people read each email we get, it may take between 1-3 business days to respond!)
Where ARE the Help Pages?
You can find them linked on each of our game websites!
There’s nothing I enjoy less than a stolen account. I’m sure you feel the same way - who wouldn’t?! So here are some tips to help keep your account safe and out of the hands of thieves.
Never share your account with anyone! Not even a friend. Every person who knows your password makes your account less secure.
Use a secure password! Use oth letters AND numbers, use both upper and lower case, and make sure your password is at least 8 characters long.
Confirm your email with us! This makes sure your email can’t be changed without your permission.
Never enter your account name and/or password into any site or email that isn’t owned by Artix Entertainment!
We Don't Want to Ban or Mute You!
We have rules in place to help keep ALL our players safe and having fun in AQWorlds! Make sure you follow the rules so you don't have your account muted, banned, or disabled! Not sure if something's ok to do? Review the rules!
Practel has taken time away from his essay, "The True Swag of Abraham Lincoln's Beard" to issue you an update to the Practel vs Korin war.
Today I am the bearer of both good and bad news. First up, the bad news.
As of right now, the Practel vs. Korin war is delayed. While most of the art assets are created, a lot of the programming, quest creation, monster creation, etc... still need to happen. Since this was a project intended for me to learn and increase my knowledge with, I didn't want to hand it off to another team member to finish. I'm a firm believer of letting you guys know why it's not ready, and the truth is, I just got slammed with school. Unfortunatly, school is requiring almost all of my time everday. So, development is still going - just at a slower, more comfortable rate. I would wager that you can expect the war in around a month, month and a half's time.
However, onto the good news! Since the war is delayed, it will allow myself and the artists to do a lot more things that we initially couldn't with the time constraints. I really want to make this war ridiculously fun, and over the top. So, while it may be delayed, what you will get in the end is going to be amazing.
Anyways, it's time to get back to the grind. See you starside.
Happy 6th Birthday, MechQuest! Has another whole year gone by already since this time last year? It seems so long ago, while at the same time it feels like it went by in just a blink. Log in now to go downstairs to the party & grab the limited-edition Mecha Models of Yore - and log in this weekend to pick up your commemorative Starship items and see what kind of Birthday Mecha we've cooked up for you!
On behalf of the entire MechQuest team, I'd like to say, "Thank you so much for playing! We love developing new content for you and we're very excited about the year ahead!"
TLaPD! Arr, me hearties! Ye'll see th' Dread Pirate Rhubarb on th' Main Street o'Soluna City an' he'll take yer ta places piratical (of the past) and new 3013 shops. Blade updated the ol' Boneyface head - festooned it wi' new feathers, he did! An' I made ye Star Cap'ns a "Sea Shanty Generator."
Things written previously & not yet shared wi' ye - we arr so busy:
Dragon*Con: It was wonderful to see so many of you - you are the reason I go! I hope to see you again (or for the first time) next year!
Artix did a wonderful Dragon*Con recap a while back, with many great photos - here's the link
I was very honored when Artix took the time during the panel to thank me and the MechQuest team. I am hoping that someone has video.
I am still sorting through over 800 mostly blurry images taken with my phone... so I have a couple of good ones to share with you that were taken by other people.
Here is a fun group shot from after the AE panel.
Dragon_Girl brought Twilly & Zorbak for a photo op, and the otter that ACW0 gave me for my birthday got into the picture as well. It's lucky that Gjappy was standing by as a Guardian Angel - that sword arm is menacing! Many thanks to Dragon_Girl for sending me this photo!
More things of note were to go here, but...
"Hi, I'm Blade. A relatively new Assistant artist (Or whatever my title at this point is) for Mechquest."
bzz...right... I need to look into his actual title... =Mae out ...bzzt
"Part of making a war like this is making main art assets so you can play in a war zone. I spent about 2 weeks working on barricades like wooden spikes and sand bags, banners, signs, graffiti and posters, war NPC's like the Korin and Practel supporters, and Practel's NPC, war rewards, and a few other things that I can't really talk about for fear that Practel and Korin would send ninjas after me if I gave up any secrets.."
bzzabeep...incoming transmission #2 from Practel failed to update. #BlamePractel zzzzt
Thanks for the update, Blade!
War. Is. Coming. Watch out for that guy... Everyone is busy with school & related things, so we've had a bit of delay - if all goes well the war will launch at the end of this month; if there are hiccups, it'll be October. Prepare yourselves...
Ok I've got to stop wrapping this up & roll you out the TLaPD release!
Dragon*Con Bound! I'm just about finished packing for Dragon*Con! We're working on a head weapon for you if you're able to make it (and we'll make a version available to those who can't, too. Did I tell you that already? I forget... ) In other news, I've got twitter working on my phone now, so watch for tweets about #MechQuest and other Artix Entertainment game news from Atlanta this week! (follow @MaegwynAe on twitter - that's me!)
beep beep boop boop
Ooh a transmission from Practel! It's for YOU! I'll talk with you more later! =Mae
Hello players! I'm here to deliver you an update on the Practel vs. Korin War! A lot of progress has been made on it, and the hardest part (dynamically loading certain things pertaining to the war; I'll explain more in a minute) has been completed.
The main objective of this war is to explore the craziness and insanity between two brothers, Korin and Practel. A few players really want a serious progression to the story (or at least one building up to why the war is occurring), and I want to explain that the reset technically has not occurred yet. So, following the timeline of the story, the war takes place before the finale in terms of lore and story. The way that it should be viewed is as follows: the player has to maintain a very serious situation and needs to be focused, while Practel and Korin are absolutely not taking anything seriously (to the point where they start to cause issues for the people of Loreon!) If you haven't already, talk to Practel in-game at Soluna City for an awesome cutscene.
One of the awesome things that I haven't seen used a lot in the MechQuest is dynamically loading certain objects and scenery into the game. For instance, if you beat the finale in-game, a party is dynamically loaded into the game at Tek's Mechs. Normally, if you haven't beaten the finale it wouldn't show up for you.
In essence, it means that we can make players who support Practel see certain things Korin supporters can't and vice versa. The plan right now is to have the players (you guys) choose a side at the start of the war to support, and can't go switching easily. If time permits, there may be a betrayal quest that allows you to switch sides.
Now, with all that random and annoying technical stuff out of the way I give you the first room of MANY in the war hub for Practel and Korin.
